Hi, I am Brenda
Brenda is 43 years old, she grew up in Rhode Island. She's an avid gardener and loves daisies and wildflowers. Spring and Summer are Brenda's favorite seasons. She especially loves being outside barefoot in the grass of the yard or the sand at the beach. Brenda loves taking walks and breathing in the fresh air whether it's just going for a stroll around the neighborhood, taking a nearby woodsy path with one of her closest friends, Nicole, or hiking with her husband Jason in the mountains of New Hampshire. Her favorite color is purple and she loves anything leopard. Brenda loves crafting and shopping, especially during a girls’ day with her best friend, Katie. She's a fantastic baker and enjoys trying new recipes. You'll often find her listening to music and dancing around the kitchen while making something delicious. Brenda has a love for animals especially her two cats, Cher and Specks. She takes her role as fur mama very seriously. Brenda is very excited to become a mother and looking forward to raising a child that she can call her own.
Brenda’s Favorite Things
Baking
I love baking and this is partly because I am able to expose my creativeness through baking and it makes me happy. I also have a sweet tooth and I have always baked with my grandma in the past so each and every time baking reminds me of her. In fact I make an excellent banana bread, which my husband loves and it is because of my grandma that I have gotten so good at this recipe. I still bake with my mom especially around the holidays, which gives a sense of togetherness and bonding for me. The holidays are not the only time I bake. I love to try new recipes so if I come across one it's almost definite that you'll find me whipping up some goodness in the kitchen. If it's a little extra chilly outside you can bet I'll be preheating the oven maybe to just bake something as simple as chocolate chip cookies to provide the feeling of extra coziness and a wonderful aroma in the house.
Decorating
I love to decorate. For me it makes my home feel more warm and cozy especially during the colder months. You'll find decorations both inside and outside my home during every season and holiday. This is jut so comforting to me and makes me happy. I'm a bargain hunter so I almost always find new decorations at the end of each season, which I'll incorporate the following year. I get so excited for "next time" and then forget about my latest purchase until that time comes around again and I recover my new find(s) inside the storage bin with all my other decorations. When this happens all that excitement resurfaces all over again. This past Fall I "needed" to purchase another pole for my garden flags. Just like my decor, I have at least one garden flag maybe two for almost every season and I'm slowly growing my collection.
Cats
My two cats Cher and Specks mean the world to me. When I adopted Cher, little did I know she would become one of my best firends. She came to our home from a rough situation and now she has everything and more. She's come out of her shell after being a bit timid. She's helped me on days when I've had a rough time and Specks has too. Cher will curl up in my lap in the morning while I have my coffee and then there's Specks. He'll greet me in the morning by meowing away as if he's telling me a story. He'll make "biscuits" on a blanket beside me on the couch and greet me at the front door when I come home. Even at night while watching TV, sometimes they're both on their cat tree next to the couch and this is very comforting to me. It has been an amazing six years with both Cher and Specks and I couldn't imaging life without them. It's as if they've been with me for my entire lifetime.
coffee
I just love a good cup of coffee. It's great for just relaxing or even having a wonderful conversation. Though mostly enjoyed at home, we are fortunate enough to have a great local coffee shop very close by. I especially love having coffee on the weekends with my husband. While Jason and I were dating, our relationship was kind of long distance, so on the weekends when I would visit we would sit outside on adirondak chairs with our coffee in the morning. Nowadays during the warmer weather we sit out on our deck in outdoor rockers enjoying the sunshine and fresh air with our freshly brewed coffee. Sitting with my cup of coffee always brings me back to those wonderful moments where it all began.
Music and dancing
Music and dancing always makes me feel good. I've been dancing since I was four years old and I took lessons for almost 20 years. If I'm at an event where there's a dance floor, you'll find me on that floor dancing to any song that comes on. At home I am most likely to have music on in the background rather than the TV. For me music gets me dancing and moving around the house helps me through my housework. I listen to all types of music. When the pandemic had other plans for my wedding, I got creative and made both a dinner and dancing soundtrack for our backyard reception. My family was quite impressed with what I had come up with. Throughout my life music and dancing have been a part of me and it just makes me whole.
